An Overview of Control Method with Various Crowbar Techniques of Wind Turbines during Power System Faults

This paper reviews the various control crowbar methods associated with doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) wind energy system (WES) during power faults. The are designed to improve fault ride-through (FRT) capability of DFIGs based on WESs. adaptive neural-fuzzy inference (ANFIS) is developed detect conditions and protection techniques. proposed ANFIS technique detects measurement three phase voltages currents at terminals DFIG turbine (WT) activate period deactivate it after clearance. Furthermore, techniques investigated enhance stability studied WT generators also, protect components. All these simulations carried for model consists 9 MW WTs connected grid in Simulink/Matlab. Simulation results also revealed that outer terminal more effective as compare other via strategy.
